08/09/2011 - College PREP - Bear (Wilmington), DE
Joe showed similar skills in Bear, DE as he has done in previous workouts. Defensively, Joe showed soft / sure hands, fluid footwork, and he keeps his feet moving. He fields in a low / athletic position, from the right, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. Joe has a clean exchange and he throws with accuracy and carry to his target. An earlier glove and a longer / looser arm action can help defensive numbers improve. Offensively, Joe has a square set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He swings in good rhythm, he has good barrel accuracy, and he makes good use of his lower 1/2. More direct hands to the ball, and spraying it to all fields can help average hitting numbers spike.
09/04/2010 - Accelerated Infield Weekend
Klusman continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Feet are active in taking good routes in working around the ball but needs to be more aggressive in playing through with his body. He shows plus body control as he gets his body into a sound fielding position through a low approach. Hands are soft, clean, and sure as he displays quick hands through is exchange in getting rid of the ball quickly. Throws show accuracy but will benefit by using his lower half more and getting on a long toss program to aid in building more arm strength with carry. Overall, Joe showed great footwork and solid approach through the fielding process.
