01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Pirate City Joe is a big bodied RHP/1B that presents a good target at first and is deceptive on the mound. Offensively, he showed a strong setup and level bat path. He has a lot of potential with some concentrated work and mechanical tune-ups. Defensively, he has good pre-pitch rhythm, and makes the routine plays. His feet are still a little unsure around the bag, but agility drills will help to quicken feet and make him more fluid. On the mound, he threw two pitches with good pitchability when runners were on (varies looks and times). His free arm action and front side extension are two aspects that can play and his body can be molded around those tools. Overall - Joe is a good kid, a listener and a coachable player that is ready to make adjustments for improvement.
