01/18/2021 - All-In Membership - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Joe is a strong, athletic OF/RHP who has a tremendous future on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (7.02 60 time). He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. Throws are accurate with on line zip (84 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving (90 mph exit velocity) to all parts of the field. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 75-79 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Joe has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

02/18/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Joe is an athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Joe has good balance, he keeps his eyes on target, and he separate on time. He has a good length stride toward the plate, competes in the zone, and his FB touches 75 MPH. In the OF, Joe has active feet, good pre-pitch actions, and he fields in good rhythm. He fields aggressively, makes plays consistently, and throws with momentum and consistency across the diamond. At the plate, Joe has a tall set-up, good bat speed, and he can hit to all fields. He gets solid extension through the ball and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
