06/02/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Joe is a 1B/LHP who can swing it. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park. At 1B, he has plus lateral range for a big guy, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound/repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 84-86 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late break and command/control is well above average as he locates well to both sides of the plate. A projectable 1B - Joe will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
