08/05/2009 - Pirate City World Series - Session 2 Joe is a young, 2012 graduate that shows as a two-way player in the OF and at 3B with a average frame with projection as he continues to physically mature and fill out. Foot speed is average and he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active and aggressive in taking proper routes and angles to track down balls in the OF. Defensive abilities are solid average in the OF. At 3B, feet need to be more aggressive in coming to get and playing through balls with his feet and hands. Defensive abilities are average in the IF. Arm strength is near above average showing life, carry, and accuracy in the OF. At the plate, hitting abilities and power are solid average through an aggressive approach. Swing path is level and he shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Power is best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-75 mph with run. Off speed pitches are below average. Currently, he projects best as a position player. With 3 years to further develop, Waite has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
