Exclusive College Recruiting Program Joey is an athletic MIF prospect out of Southern California who adds two-way versatility as a RHP. As a position player he is an athletic RH hitter who has a quick swing that gets into the contact zone early and he stays in the zone well allowing him to use the whole field and generate hard contact. He has doubles power to the middle of the field and as he continues to add strength he will have HR power to pull side. His offensive skill set is carrying tool for a player who shows the ability to hit in game consistently and will translate to college level. Defensively, he is a primary OF who is a solid defender with good feet, arm strength and athleticism to be a solid defender. Additionally, he can play 2b and 3b at next level. On the mound he has a repeatable RH delivery with a good arm action and ability to control three pitches and a low 80 MPH FB with room to add velocity. Overall a solid college prospect as a position player with two-way or pitching potential.

12/19/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Joey is a lean, athletic 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Joey has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
