04/03/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Trenton, NJ Joey showed nice improvements in his game during his last workout in Trenton. He is a tall, strong, 1st baseman who will continue to improve. Defensively, Joey has active footwork, a presentable glove, and he fields in an athletic position. He is a good sized target, moves well around the bag, and throws with solid direction to his target. Joey can improve defensively by quicken his exchange and with a stronger arm. Offensively, Joey has a tall/athletic stance, good balance, and he loads his hands back well. He swings in good rhythm, flashes fast bat speed, and he hits hard to the pull side. Hitting can continue to get better with a lower leg kick and letting the ball travel deeper into the hitting zone.

10/01/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Joey is a 1B who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at 1B, he shows fluid footwork and fields GB's in a low/athletic position. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. With the stick, this RHH is a gap to gap hitter. He takes aggressive hacks and looks to power up pitches in the zone. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
