Official Scouting Report

10/08/2014 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Jack showcased his ability to patrol the outfield and hit in the middle of the field at the AZ Senior Fall Classic with Baseball Factory. Defensively, he had very good range to his glove side, made good reads off the bat and threw on-line to his target. He was soft with his hands, clean with his ground ball mechanics and worked to keep his arm slot high to promote carry. Offensively, he got his hands activated to launch, and was fluid with his timing & rhythm. He had a middle approach and he flashed pop, hitting a 2 run double. Overall - Jack is a promising player that projects nicely in the outfield at the next level.

08/17/2014 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Bell continues to show a lot of improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying outstanding hitting abilities with tremendous power potential through an athletic setup as he gets to a strong launch position. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered. Arm strength has improved as he topped out at 85 mph at the arm strength station with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry through his target. In the OF, he displays clean/smooth actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. Feet are active/aggressive and he reads balls well off the bat, displaying range.

07/29/2014 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Jack showed well at the Under Armour Southwest Tournament, making several improvements to his game since we last saw him. In the OF, he works light on his feet and tracks balls hit into the gaps with speed (6.88). A clean exchange and strong arm allow him to hold runners to singles. With the bat, Jack remains relaxed with a solid base. Barrel delivery is quick as he utilizes his lower 1/2 to generate pop off of his barrel. He puts the ball in play consistently and proved to be a tough out. Jack also got on the bump at the event. He maintains fluid tempo and works in-line toward the dish. Delivery is repeatable as he throws strikes and pitches to contact. Jack is a versatile player who is fun to watch.

10/26/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Futures Series West Jack is an athletic OF with a projectable frame (6'3"/180lbs). Offensively, this righty shows good rhythm and gets back into a loaded position smoothly. Solid contacted is created through a level swing path. Shows pull-side pop on the pitch middle-in and drives the ball on a line. In the OF, tracks down balls hit into the gaps with speed. He is sure handed and gains ground through the ball. He fires accurate throws but will benefit by following through and letting go. A few minor adjustments are the only thing standing in the way of Jack's game really taking off.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
