Official Scouting Report

  • 3Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament JT is a 2024 RHP/OF out of Owasso, OK and University of Oklahoma verbal commit who took the field at the BF Pre-Season All-American event. In the OF, he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with carry (89 mph velocity) to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.08 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine with excellent hitting/power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing (88 mph velocity) and shows feel for the barrel as he drives the ball to all fields. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, delivery is sound, repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 82-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late/sharp break. JT has a high skill-set and will get looks from pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

12/04/2021 - All-In Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX JT is an RHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build, with thick lower half, and strength present. In the OF, shows athletic actions, with active feet, and good lateral range. He creates good fielding angles and has a clean gather off his left foot. Creates good momentum on his throws, with good carry and an arm velocity up to 94mph. On the mound, he has athletic actions, with a quick arm, and extends out front. Repeats his delivery and works with good direction down the mound. He throws a FB that sits 85-87mph with good life in zone, a slider with 12/6 shape with tight spin, and a changeup with good sink that he throws with FB arm speed. SL was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and even stance. Swings with intent, with natural juice at contact, and ability to deliver the barrel. He gets on-plane early and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. A direct barrel path enables him to hit balls consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 91mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
