01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament John Michael continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting abilities are now outstanding through an athletic setup. He is aggressive with quick hands working through a level swing path. In the MIF, he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in his lateral movements, displaying range. He is aggressive and presents soft / sure hands well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
