11/01/2015 - College PREP - Tampa, FL John is and athletic R/R OF who can swing it. At the plate - this RHH shows a square/athletic setup with good balance. He swings on a level path with good bat speed as he connects with pop (exit velocity = 87 mph). He hits the ball where it's pitched at sprays it to all parts of the field. In the OF, John takes a quick first step and covers ground with speed. He works into position behind the fly-ball, secures it with 2-hands, and plays through the ball well gaining ground toward his target. Throws are accurate on a line. John is a well-rounded player who should find success in this his senior year.

06/30/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Firecracker Classic 18U Participant 7/2/14 - Versatile and athletic build. Hunter Pence type swing. Handles the bat well has good swing path and good barrel accuracy, and a good bunter. Multiple two hit games during pool play.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Jack is an athletic 2-way player as an OF/2B who can swing the stick. Offensively, he is takes a hack and is a hard out. He shows plus bat speed, delivering the barrel to and through the zone. He shows patience and a good eye for the strike zone, waiting for his pitch. Once on the base paths, he has good instincts and takes the extra base when possible. In the OF, Campbell is aggressive and and tracks down balls hit into the gaps with his speed (7.02 60 yard dash). He fields the ball smoothly, gathers well and gains ground toward his target. At 2B, he shows active footwork and moves around the ground ball well. He presents his glove out in front, making the plays and avoiding the in-between hop. As only a 2016 graduate and 3 years still to develop his skill-set, Jack has a bright future in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
