01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) John is a talented/lean (6'3"/175) two-way prospect (OF/RHP) in the class of 2022. In the outfield, he uses a good prep step to get a good jump on balls hit his direction, showing good range as well. He is aggressive on ground balls and presents his glove out in front, creating a clean exchange. He creates momentum into his release, delivering strong/online throws with accuracy (88 mph). At the plate, this righty shows balanced/fluid movements with good timing. John works through his lower half and uses fast hands to square the ball up consistently. He shines on the mound, showing good direction toward the plate and uses his size to throw on an effective downhill angle. FB ranges 80-84 and gets on hitters quick, CB has 10-4 shape with high volume of strikes, an CH has good life with deceptive arm speed. John is a talented and hardworking prospect with the skill set to play at the next level.

01/20/2020 - Accelerated College PREP - Bradenton (Tampa), FL John is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect. In the OF, John is on time with his prep step, he's aggressive to the ball, and has good hands when fielding. He works behind fly balls and makes accurate throws with carry on the ball. At the plate, John starts in a tall stance and has fluid timing to the ball. He shows some bat speed, he rotates his backside through the ball, and has a pull side approach. On the mound, John gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a loose arm action. He keeps his eyes on his target, he stays tall on the backside, and rides his backside downhill. John will continue improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
