06/22/2012 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 John continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.96 runner. He utilizes his quick feet well in attacking ground balls while presenting his clean hands well out front. Arm strength has improved with throws displaying carry and accuracy into his target. At the plate, hitting grades have improved slightly, now showing well above average. He shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, generating bat speed to and through the zone. At the event, he was 5 for 9 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and will to work hard to be the best player he can be. The Omaha National World Series tournament featured over 100 players from 20+ states, and Icaza was MVP of the event. He is certainly a player to watch.
