09/16/2018 - College PREP - Boise, ID John is an athletic C prospect who will graduate in 2019. Behind the plate, John shows quick footwork and moves well to block. He sits in an atheltic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He makes a clean exchange with a quick release on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to 2B. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and takes a level swing to the ball, making solid contact. Overall, John is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

09/17/2017 - College PREP - Boise, ID Casey is a talented catching prospect who graduates in 2019. Offensively, Casey has a square stance with a centered balance and firm front side. He has a load and maintains direction with his stride. Casey has good hands and gets extension at contact landing the barrel to the baseball. He shows the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. Behind the plate, Casey has an effective setup and moves with quick footwork. He plays the position athletically with agile actions. He sticks the ball on the corners and is quick to his knees when needing to block. Casey has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws have good carry and he is developing consistency. Overall, Casey is a well-rounded catching prospect who has talent on both sides of the ball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
