John continues to improve on the diamond. On the mound, he works to a tall balance point and gets good glove side lead, driving off of the rubber and working downhill toward the dish. FB now ranges from 80-82 mph. Slider shows some depth with 11/5 shape. CH shows to be good out-pitch as it has sink. At SS, John works into a square fielding position and fields the ball cleanly. He gathers well and works in-line toward 1B. As a hitter, he shows good balance in his setup with a solid base. He shows some rhythm and waits for his pitch. 2 2015 grad - John's future looks to be on the mound where he will give his team a chance to win.

John is a young, thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, John has soft / sure hands, fluid / active feet, and he fields in a low / square position. He has a clean exchange and throws with a short / quick arm with accuracy and carry to his target. Defense can get better with quicker feet and added arm strength. On the mound, John has a loose arm, some glove side lead, and a compact delivery. Not throwing across his body, using more lower 1/2, and finishing off his pitches will improve mound effectiveness. Offensively, John has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He has a middle approach and he uses his lower 1/2. Hitting can get better by not spinning off the ball and staying short.
