08/06/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 John worked out both in the INF and on the mound during his time in Pirate City. Defensively, John has good pre-pitch actions, he works around the ball well, and he makes the routine plays. He has a clean exchange, and throws with some accuracy across the diamond. Better range, quicker feet, and playing more on the balls of his feet can help defensive grades get better. On the mound, John has a simple delivery, good direction, and he throws strikes. He will need to improve his separation, finish off his pitches, and add arm strength to improve on the mound. At the plate, John has an athletic stance, a level swing path, and he swings in good rhythm. He gets his front foot down early and makes contact. Quicker hands, not spinning off the ball, and more extension through will help hitting improve. Showing more aggressive actions in his game will also help him to improve. Playing 2B is something John can consider as well. He is a coachable player that works hard.
