06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) John is a class of 2022 3B/RHP prospect. He shows off a good frame with decent athleticism. At the plate, he showed plus bat speed and raw power with exit velos up to 94 MPH. He showed quick twitch and good reactions along with a natural feel for the barrel. He does a good job using his lower ½ and showed the ability to find barrels in game. In the field, he did a good job fielding beneath the baseball. Showed some range and good footwork to help him pick out hops. His arm was strong across the diamond and was up to 86 MPH. On the mound, he did a good job of working ahead in the count and mixing pitches to keep hitters off balance. He was able to record 4 strikeouts in only 3 IP. His fastball worked up to 79 MPH and was able to consistently throw his changeup for strikes at 70-71 MPH. John is a well rounded player that we hope to see again in the future.

12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament John is an athletic 3B/RHP prospect who showed well during the Academic All-American Tournament. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. He is controlled getting into a small load and remains centered in his lower half. He stays short through the ball with fast bat speed, leading to strong line drives and pull side power. In the field, John shows efficient footwork and makes the routine plays. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and makes strong, accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, John gathers over the rubber and works with a quick arm. He stays inline toward the plate and accelerates through his release, finishing with a controlled landing. John shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-64mph with sharp 11-5 break. Overall, John is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

11/15/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Germantown (Memphis), TN John is a strong 3B/RHP prospect who possesses great raw power at the plate (93mph exit velo). Offensively, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He drives through well with his lower half and generates fast bat speed through the zone. He stays short through the ball and produces great gap to gap pop. In the field, John shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate with carry through his target. On the mound, John gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. John shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph with arm side run. Curveball sits from 63-64mph with 11-5 break. Slider sits from 66-68mph with sharp movement. Changeup sits from 71-73mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, John is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
