04/29/2012 - College PREP - Rochester, NY John is a big, solid, 2-way player who pitches and catches. On the mound, John has a short arm action, decent separation, and a FB touching 67 mph. He has good direction and is around the plate with his pitches. Improved mechanics, a long arm actin, and a better finish can help mound effectiveness improve. Behind the plate, John has a decent set-up, decent hands, and he looks the ball in. He tries to keep it in front when blocking and throws with accuracy to 2nd base. A better set-up, looser actions, and added arm strength can help catching improve. At the plate, John has an open stance, an aggressive swing, and quick hands. He has a good eye for the zone and can spray to all fields. Hitting can get better with a looser grip, better balance, and more extension through the ball.
