07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Johnluca is a talented OF/LHP prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2017. In the field, Johnluca plays with quick, fluid footwork and does a nice job tracking the baseball. He presents his glove and moves with agile actions as he fields the ball in an athletic position. Johnluca has a quick, clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate with strong carry. As a right-handed hitter, Johnluca has an open, athletic setup with his weight in the front of his stance. He takes a load with a short, on-time stride. The ball jumps off Johnluca's barrel and he grinds out his ABs. He is a line drive type hitter and shows the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. On the mound, Johnluca has a balanced, on-time stride and throws from an over the top arm slot. He repeats his mechanics and works downhill with a clean arm action. Johnluca stays square to home plate with the proper stride length. He does a nice job rotating towards his target as he finishes. His fastball has good run and his changeup is deceptive. He also features a medium breaking curveball. Overall, Johnluca is a versatile prospect who has the ability to affect the game in multiple areas giving him up good potential to be an impactful player.
