Official Scouting Report

08/15/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Manchester, CT Jomar continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved, now showing well above average as he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average with solid power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-70 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for the pitch with sink.

07/06/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - New Britain (Hartford), CT Jomar continues to work hard and progress on the diamond. This RHP has a 3-pitch mix in which he pounds the zone and throws strikes with. He maintains fluid rhythm/tempo, stays directional and repeats his delivery well. FB now sits in the low 70's as he works it in and out. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape as he can throw it for strikes in any count. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed, helping to create deception. Continuing to develop his CH release (not throwing it too hard) will help to improve effectiveness. As a hitter, Jomar shows a square setup with centered balance working back into a loaded position. He takes a hack with intent and looks to drive the ball. He hits it where it's pitched, spraying it to all parts of the field. This 2023 grad has tools with still a lot of time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

06/17/2019 - Interactive Video Program - New Britain (Hartford), CT Jomar showed some improvements at 1B and on the mound during his last workout with The Factory. Defensively, his hands work well and footwork is playable. He covers some ground, keeps the ball in front of his body, and he throws with momentum and accuracy to his target. On the mound, Jomar increased velocity to 66 MPH, he showed a quick arm action, and on time separation. He pounds the zone aggressively and lands with good direction toward home plate. At the plate, Jomar has quick hands, an athletic stance, and good balance. He makes solid/square contact, he uses his lower body, and hits hard to the pull side.

07/06/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Jomar showed nice all around abilities during his time at the Cape. Defensively, Jomar gets in a good fielding position, he presents his glove well, and he fields in a square position. He moves well to the ball, his exchange is clean, and throws with accuracy from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Jomar has a quick arm actin, good balance, and he separates on time. He has good body control, lands in a square position, and competes in the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Jomar has fast bat speed, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a direct barrel through the ball, a line drive approach, and he uses his lower body. Jomar is a coachable young prospect to follow!

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Jomar is a hardworking player who is very coachable and has a great attitude. At 3B, he displays smooth/clean actions. Hands are clean and present well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup and an aggressive approach. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays on plane and makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 56-59 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Middletown (Hartford), CT Jomar is a solid, 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at 3B, he shows active footwork as he moves towards the GB in a low fielding position. He creates good angles and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and pounds the zone with strikes. At the plate, Jomar displays a balanced setup with smooth rhythm. He swings on a direct path through the zone and looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
