06/26/2023 - National Showcase - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Jonah is a 2025 LHP/1B prospect from Murrysville, PA. At first, he shows off active feet and range to the glove side, covering ground smoothly. He gets in a squared, athletic fielding position and does well to present his hands out in front. He has impressive bag awareness and shows a lot of physicality with good effort. His arm strength is impressive as he recorded a raw velo of 89 MPH. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws across the diamond to his targets with a quick release. At the plate, he starts in an athletic stance and gets a good load back. He has a lot of intent in the box and displayed fast bat speed. Works hard to stay on time and involve his lower half completely. On the mound, he showed off a 3-pitch mix, running his FB up to 79 MPH. He does a good job of gathering his balance over the rubber and getting on-time separation, maintaining very consistent mechanics in his delivery. He extends through his release point and gets over his frontside when finishing, with a controlled landing on his stride. His FB features some tail and he is able to consistently throw it for a strike. His CB features 1-7 gradual break and he does a great job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed and a loose stroke. Overall, Jonah is an exciting prospect that we are excited to see more of as he looks to begin his junior year this fall!

10/19/2022 - Arizona Easton Fall Classic - Under Class (2025-2026) Jonah is an athletic 1B/LHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Easton Fall Classic. In the field, Jonah creates good angles and gets into an athletic position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He throws from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a centered stride. He gets into a small load and hits against a strong front side. He extends through his swing with fast bat speed, producing strong line drives. On the mound, Jonah gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and drives his back leg through. Jonah operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball sits from 55-58mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 58-66mph. Overall, Jonah is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Jonah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pirate City event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to increase foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing. He stays inside the ball. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. Fastball shows a range of 68-69 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.
08/13/2021 - Baseball Factory Summer Classic Jonah is a 1B/LHP prospect who showcased his skills at the BF Summer Classic. At 1B, he starts with efficient feet and good bag awareness. Works to center the baseball and showed ability to make routine plays. A quick exchange into a high 3/4 release point, with a quick release, and accurate/on-line throws with an arm velocity up to 70mph. A left-handed pitcher, he gathers over the rubber, with a clean leg lift, and works inline towards plate. Picks up target early and lands with proper stride length. A 2-pitch pitcher who attacked hitters with a FB that sat 65-67mph and a 1/7 shaped breaking ball. In 2 innings of work, Jonah struck out 3 hitters and threw over 50% of his pitches for strikes. He also controlled the run game with a nice no-look pickoff move to first base. At the plate, he hits from a tall and square stance. Has a simple swing and rotates lower half well to contact point. Hits into a firm front side and stays balanced at contact. Showed a fast barrel through hitting with a flat barrel path with good extension. Hit line drive drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 80 mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball diamond.
07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (MS) Jonah is a 1B/LHP who will graduate in 2025. Good frame athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. At 1B, he starts with efficient feet and fields from the ground up. Creates good fielding angles and keeps eyes behind glove on backhand. Good arm action into a over the top release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base at 69mph. Showed good footwork around bag. On the mound, Jonah works with good direction and is balanced at release. Keeps his eyes on target and keeps frontside closed. Throws a FB that topped out at 68mph and an 1/7 shaped breaking ball with tight spin and good depth. Showed ability to field his position. In 2 innings of work during live games, Jonah stuck out three and didn't allow a hit. A left-handed hitter, he starts with crouched stance. Athletic setup, with a square stride, enables him to drive balls to all fields. Showed good awareness of the strike zone. Recorded a bat exit velocity of 75mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.
11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Jonah is a coachable 1B/LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training & Competition in Arizona. In the field, Jonah takes a quick first step and gets into a square position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a quick exchange. He gains ground well on his throws and keeps them accurate with carry through his target. Working on his bag footwork can help Jonah be more efficient receiving throws. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance with his hands held high. He is fluid to load and works through a level swing. He generates explosive bat speed through the zone and produces loud contact and gap to gap pop. Jonah can barrel up more baseballs by taking a square stride toward the pitcher. On the mound, Jonah gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Jonah shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 62mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits at 50mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits at 55mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Driving his lower half more can help Jonah generate more arm velocity. With five more years to develop, Jonah has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Jonah continues to work hard on his skills and did so again at the All-Region Tournament. With the bat, this righty shows an athletic stance with centered balance. Loose hands whip the barrel as he takes an aggressive hack with + bat speed. He connects with pop and drives the ball from gap-to-gap. At 1B, he has active footwork and moves lightly on the balls of his feet into a square fielding position. He secures the ball with 2-hands and gathers well. On the mound, this lefty throws a FB & CB from a 3/4 arm slot and loose arm action. He attacks hitters and fills up the zone with strikes. FB ranges from 58-59 mph with slight arm-side run. Curveball has 1/7 shape and compliments his FB well. Getting more lower 1/2 drive off of the rubber along with getting on a long toss program will both aid in increasing velocity. Only a 2025 grad - Jonah has a solid skill-set with upside on the diamond.
08/23/2020 - Summer Pro Training Experience - MD (MS) Jonah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows good barrel accuracy. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 50-52 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, makes adjustments, and competes on the field.
12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Jonah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 57 mph. Fastball showed a range of 52-57 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He slows his body and arm speed on changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. His feet play well, and he moves with good body control to the baseball, displaying proper footwork around bag. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving arm grade. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throw too hard, resembling fastball. Building more arm strength through a long toss program will aid in development on mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be.
07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Jonah is a young 1B/LHP. At 1B Jonah shows an athletic ready position and active footwork with the ball in play. He shows a +1st step to the ball presenting his glove on time with 2-hands. He fields the ball and gets rid of it with a short arm action making accurate throws around the diamond with good backspin. At the plate Jonah sets up square with loose and comfortable hands with a small load and a square stride. He gets his foot down on time rotating the lower half through getting his barrel on plane with a smooth bat path. His contact shows good pop when he squares it up and has a line drive approach. On the bump Jonah shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and Ch. As he starts his action, he starts square on the rubber and gathers over his back leg separating on time with a clean arm action. He gets +extension as he strides in line and land controlled to his target. As Jonah matures and grows his game will grow with him.
12/27/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Pittsburgh, PA Jonah is a 1B/LHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Jonah shows active footwork, he fields in a low position, and his hands are soft. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and takes a level swing to the ball, leading to solid contact to all fields. On the mound, Jonah gathers over the rubber and works on a downhill plane. He extends through on his release and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Jonah works with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 49mph. Breaking ball sits from 40-41mph with 1-7 break. Change-up sits from 45-46mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
