04/11/2021 - All-In Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Jonathan continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.28 runner. At the plate is where he continues to show best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. At SS, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph exit velocity) across the diamond.

03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Jonathan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved, now showing as outstanding hitting abilities with excellent power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jonathan is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect that competes. At SS, Jonathan is on time with his prep step, shows range to both sides of the glove, and has a good first step to the ball. He has a clean exchange, good footwork on double plays, and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Jonathan starts in a squared stance and has a simple load with his hands. He gets the barrel flat to the ball, creates backside rotation with his lower half, and keeps his head down at contact. On base, he has good instincts and hits the corners well. On the bump, Jonathan has good presence and features four pitches he throws for strikes. He has good feel for the change up and gets hitters to chase his curveball. In his delivery, he gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and works downhill. Jonathan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Jonathan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. Fastball showed a range of 70-75. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. He has a good 3 pitch mix for getting hitters out. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting/power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 4 for 8 with 2 2B. At SS, he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Jonathan is an athletic, young prospect with the ability to play multiple positions. Defensively, Jonathan works from right to left with good momentum on his throws. His hands are sure but he tends to present his glove late and deep. Working on an early set up will help with this adjustment. On the mound, Jonathan has a high 3/4 arm slot, consistently throws strikes and has late run on his FB. In order to stay consistent Jonathan needs to be balanced over the rubber, drive off his back leg and finish over his front side. As a hitter, Jonathan has an athletic base, fluidity in his load and sprays the ball to all fields. If he continues to attack the inside part of the ball, and drive his hip to the ball, he will be more explosive and increase his power numbers. Jonathan continues to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/06/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Jonathan continues to put on a good showing at the SS/RHP position. At SS, he takes aggressive routes as he fields Gb's. He gets rid of the ball in a hurry as he makes accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this RHP works in line towards home plate. He presents a quiet delivery as he commands his off speed pitches in the zone. With the bat, Jonathan displays a solid, athletic setup. He swings level through the zone driving pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Tiger Town Jonathan is a skilled 2-way player who showed very well during his time at Tiger Town. He is a coachable player who works hard on his skills. Offensively, this RHH has an athletic setup with good balance and a strong base. He whips the barrel on the level path, barrels the ball up and hits hard line-drives. At SS, Davis has active footwork moving well on the balls of his feet. He tracks the GB into a soft mitt, gathers well and makes strong/accurate throws across the diamond. Continuing to develop his lateral quickness will help to improve his skills in the INF. On the mound, this RHP pounds the zone with strikes working ahead in the count often. He has on-time separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 63-64 mph while showing good arm-side run. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape - complimenting his FB well. Jonathan his a versatile athlete who has a ton of upside with a bright future ahead of him in the game.

11/01/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Jonathan is a switch-hitting SS who graduates in 2022. At SS, he has quick/active footwork and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He squares up to the ball, fields it with soft/sure hands and has a clean exchange to throw. With the bat, he currently shows more naturally from the right side. He has an athletic/balanced setup with a solid base. Swing is level to and through the zone as he connects and hits line-drives. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
