11/07/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Denton showed at 3B plus on the mound for the first time at the event. At 3B, he shows good pre pitch setup and displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack balls more, present hands more out front, and increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic stance with balance. Hands are loose and work through a direct / level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a solid line drive approach, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to stay back and transfer weight properly through his lower half. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-69 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin and gradual break. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.
