07/23/2012 - 2012 Team One Northeast Showcase
Jonathan showed similar abilities as we had previously seen in Highstown, NJ. At 3B, feet are active and aggressive as he attacks ground balls. Hands are quick / clean and presents well out front. At the plate, Ferrer shows a solid setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-84 mph. He works on a downhill plane and threw strikes with all his pitches.

Jonathan is a young, thin, athletic RHP / 3B who will graduate in 2014. On the mound, Jonathan has a short / quick arm action, a controlled balance point, and good glove tuck. He works to his balance point well, he keeps his shoulders level, and he has good direction toward home. More finish and not flying open can help mound effectiveness improve. At 3B, Jonathan has soft / sure hands, he presents his glove well, and he moves to the ball athletically. He has a clean exchange and throws with a long / loose arm action with accuracy across the diamond. Playing more low to high and adding arm strength can help abilities improve. At the plate, Jonathan has a square / athletic set-up, a short / square stride, and good balance. He throws his hands well, has good bat speed, and he swings in good rhythm. Being shorter to the ball and using his lower 1/2 can help improve offensive numbers.
