10/01/2017 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO Jonathan is a big, strongly-built left handed prospect who shows ability two-ways. On the mound, this southpaw can dot to both sides of the plate with both his fastball and slider, showing the ability to attack both righties and lefties. He is deceptive in his delivery, hiding the ball well and getting on the hitter quickly, allowing his stuff to play up. His low delivery will present plenty of issues to lefties and will make him a valuable member of any pitching staff. At the plate, this prospect shows a short, compact swing with smooth actions to load and stay back, exploding through the zone to the ball. He shows some pop with potential for legitimate game power as he continues to mature and get stronger. At first, he is active working around the bag and to the ball to field with firm hands, knocking down anything hit hard. Implementing speed and agility drills into his training can help improve range in the field. Jonathan is an intriguing prospect we look forward to keeping an eye on.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
