10/11/2017 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Jonathan continues to shine on the diamond and did so during his time at the Arizona Senior Fall Classic. At the plate, he shows an open / athletic setup with an aggressive approach and is ready to jump on 1st pitch FB's. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. He has a good 2 strike approach and battles in every AB. At 3B, he continues to shine, displaying smooth / clean actions. He attacks ground balls and moves well laterally, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he shows off his athletic abilities on the slow roller play. Hands are smooth with a quick release to fire strong throws across the diamond. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 81-85 mph with tailing action through a loose / free arm action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a plus feel for pitch. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working to get ahead of hitters. He shows good mound presence and is very competitive on the bump. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is very coachable as he works hard to be the best player he can be. This talented 2-way player is fun to watch when he steps onto the field.

06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Jonathan is a corner infielder who can swing it. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 88 mph). At 3B, he has plus lateral range for a big guy, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws (89 mph velocity) zipping across the diamond. A projectable 3B - Jonathan will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

06/04/2017 - College PREP - Kennesaw, GA Jonathan is a tall, solid 3B who is a prospect on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents out front. Athletic abilities are present through his feeds of the double play. Arm strength is at a pro level (89 mph velocity) with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying tremendous hitting abilities with near pro level power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, displaying gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well and shows a plus feel for the barrel with baseball coming off the bat a little differently. Jonathan has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches / pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
