12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Jonathan is wiry, strong OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.98. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. He will benefit by working to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with carry. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. At the event, he was 3 for 9. On the mound, he shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. He shows good composure and competes on the bump. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, asks questions, and shows desire to be the best player he can be. With 3 years to further develop, Jonathan has potential with time and room to progress his game.
