07/26/2011 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ
Jonathan showed some improvements in his game in Trenton. He has quick feet, soft / sure hands, and good actions behind the plate. Jonathan blocks and receives well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a long arm action with accuracy to his target. If Jonathan can shorten his arm action and add arm strength, abilities behind the dish will get better. At the plate, Jonathan has a square / athletic set-up, a proper load, and a short stride. He has good barrel accuracy, he makes square contact, and he can spray the ball to all fields.
06/23/2011 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 2
Jonathan is a young, athletic Catcher who will graduate in 2014. Behind the plate, Jonathan has simple actions, a soft glove, and looks the ball in. He drops to his knees quickly to block, deadens the ball softly, and gets to his feet quickly. Jonathan has a quick exchange and throws with accurately to his target. His catching skills can get better if Jonathan can lower his target, shorten his arm action, and loosen his front leg. Offensively, Jonathan has a good idea, a balanced approach, and works the middle of the field. He has some separation, puts the ball in play, and he can hit the ball hard to the pull side. Jonathan's hitting can improve by lowering his back elbow and developing a shorter swing. Only a 2014 graduate, Jonathan has a lot of upside, and he has the work ethic and desire to improve and get to the next level.
