  • LHP/1BPosition Projection

10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Jonathan showed well at both positions during his last workout in Trenton. On the mound, Jonathan has a good arm action and solid sink on his FB. He has good balance and direction toward home plate, and throws strikes. At 1B, Jonathan makes plays through efficient footwork and hands. He keeps the ball in front of his body, his exchange is clean, and he delivers the ball with accuracy and consistency to his target. Offensively, this LHH has good balance, he swings aggressively, and works the middle of the field. He will need to work on the following in order to get better.

1. Landing
2. Long toss

On the mound, Jonathan throws strikes, he hides the ball well, and his CB shows nice break. He has A/S run on his FB which topped out at 60 MPH and he shows good direction toward the plate. At 1B, Jonathan has good bag awareness, he covers ground well, and his hands are firm. He makes the routine plays on balls hit his way and he throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Jonathan has a closed stance, a solid base, and he makes consistent contact. He will need to work on the following in order for skills to get better.

1. Loosen arm action
2. Separation
3. Finish

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
