06/14/2009 - College PREP - Oakland, CA Jonathan is a C who brings an average high school frame to the diamond. Behind the plate, Jonathan has a flexible set up with a good target, he has good lateral movement when blocking and is quick to his knees, and has a short arm stroke with descent carry on his throws. To become a better C, Jonathan needs to cut down on some over sway, he needs to keep his eyes down when blocking, and become more fluid on his throws with a better finish. At the plate, Nutter throws his hips and barrel for power; he attacks the baseball with aggression, and tries to stay inside. Recommendations for Jonathan would be to widen his stance for more lower ½ utilization, to stay back to let the ball travel more, and relax the hands to eliminate a muscled swing.
