07/23/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Jonathan is a coachable C/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Jonathan tracks the ball into his glove and receives well. Sitting in a lower stance can help Jonathan improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid getting into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He gets good extension through the ball and produces solid line drives. Jonathan can improve as a hitter by remaining balanced throughout his swing. With six more years to develop, Jonathan has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/26/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Myrtle Beach, SC Jonathan is a tall/athletic, 2-way player who catches and plays 3rd base. Behind the plate, Jonathan has quick feet, a presentable glove, and he sits in comfortably. He has a quick exchange and a short/accurate arm to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 3.24 seconds. At 3rd, Jonathan has playable hands and feet, he makes plays on balls hit his way, and delivers it with carry through to his target. Offensively, Jonathan has a square stance, he swings in good rhythm, and can hit to all fields. He has fast bat speed and makes hard contact consistently. Solid skills can further progress with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
