11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Jonathan is a 2025 1B prospect who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Select Training and Competition. At 1B, he had an athletic base, with quick feet, and ability to create good fielding angles. Fields from a low fielding position, with hands out front, and had a low funnel. Quick exchange with ability to get rid of the ball. A short arm stroke into a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 82mph. Throws were accurate with good carry and late life to second base. Coaches agree he has the athleticism and arm strength to play OF at a competitive level. At the plate, this left-handed hitter hits from an upright and square stance with comfortable hands. Gets his hands separated, with knob to C, and gets his swing started on-time. Keeps his hands and hips connected throughout swing and has a fast barrel through hitting zone. Hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. In live game action, he had 3 singles, a sac fly, 2 RBI's, and a stolen base. With plenty of time for growth and development, we foresee Jonathan having opportunities to play at the next level.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Jonathan is a class of 2025 1B prospect. In the field, he does a very good job of working beneath the baseball and fielding from down to up. His glove does a great job of working out in front of his body. This helps him pick out tough hops. He does a very good job with his footwork around the bag as well. At the plate, he shows off a very advanced approach with commitment to the opposite side of the field. In game action we saw him drive a ball to the left side of the field. His barrel does a very good job of getting on plane early and extending through the baseball.

09/22/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Lynnwood (Seattle), WA Jonathan showed a spike in hitting numbers, raised his exit velocity to 61 MPH, and arm velocity to 64 MPH during his last workout. At 1st base, Jonathan has athletic actions, active feet, and good pre-pitch actions. He moves with agility to the ball, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with accuracy to his target. In the OF, Jonathan has firm hands, efficient footwork to the ball, and he works behind it well. He has a clean exchange, a solid crow hop, and a consistency arm to his cut off man. At the plate, Jonathan has an athletic set-up, he loads well, and his hands are quick. He has a line drive approach and rotates his hips through.

06/16/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Tacoma, WA Jonathan raised arm velocity to 59 MPH and showed well defensively during his last workout with The Factory. At 1st base, Jonathan has active feet and a good 1st step to the ball. He has a presentable glove, fields aggressively, and throws with momentum toward his target. In the OF, Jonathan tracks well and makes plays consistently. He has firm hands, a solid crow hop, and a loose arm action to his cut off man. Offensively, Jonathan stands in athletically and loads well. He has some separation and work the ball well to the opposite field.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Jonathan is a coachable 1B/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training in Arizona. In the field, Jonathan takes a good first step and displays quick footwork. He makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Jonathan improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is on time getting into a small load and hits agains a strong font side. He takes a smooth swing and makes solid contact. Jonathan can improve as a hitter by increasing his bat speed. With six more years to develop, Jonathan has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

10/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Spokane, WA Jonathan is a young, 2-way player who hits from the left side. In the OF, Jonathan has efficient footwork, presentable hands, and he attacks aggressively. He takes good routes, stays behind the ball well, and throws with a loose arm action to his target. In the INF, Jonathan has good actions, efficient footwork, and firm hands with a loose arm action to his target. At the plate, Jonathan has a square set-up, good balance, and he hits from an athletic base. He swings on plane and can hit to the opposite field. Overall skills can get better if Jonathan can work on the following,

Outfield
1. Avoid drifting
2. Release
3. Arm strength
Infield
1. Arm strength
2. Quicken feet
3. Accuracy
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Bat speed
3. Rhythm

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
