07/20/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Worley showed only on the mound where he has improved his abilities with a tremendous upside. Command / control are tremendous as he attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo and polished delivery. Arm action is loose and quick, working well to the plate. Arm strength has improved, showing at a pro level as he topped out at 90 mph. Fastball showed range of 87-90 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break and shows as an outstanding pitch that will get outs at the next level. He shows off his athletic abilities on holding runners as he controls the running game. Jonathan will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his abilities on the mound with makings of a solid draft type guy in 2016.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Worley showed on the mound at the event and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 86 mph. Fastball showed a range of 82-86 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with short / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches and will pitch inside.

09/27/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures West Jonathan is a tall, long RHP (6'5", 175) with an excellent pitcher's body. He has a repeatable delivery that looks very comfortable for him and has rhythm. He appears confident and in-control on the mound. Jonathan's fastball gets into the mid 80s now with more coming in the future. In addition, he hides the ball well making it tough on hitters to pick it up and allowing his FB to get on hitters in a hurry. This pitch has downhill plane and he commands it well - pounding the bottom of the zone most of the time and occasionally climbing the ladder to change a hitter's eye level. He complements his FB with a tailing change and a hard CB with good bite and depth. This is a high ceiling arm to keep an eye on.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
