  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

11/07/2021 - All-In Membership - Manalapan, NJ Jordan is an OF/LHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to add more strength throughout. In the OF, he starts with fluid footwork and has good body control at baseball. Creates good angles and fields from an athletic fielding position. Works behind the ball and keeps feet active throughout. A long/loose arm action into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws and an arm velocity up to 81mph. Showed good feel for the position. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He works with good direction and keeps eyes on target. Throws a FB that sits 69-73mph with some sinking action, a 1/7 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth through the strike zone, and a developing changeup. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Shows good patience at plate and ability to keep his hands inside the baseball. A flat barrel path, with good balance at contact, and a fast barrel through the zone. Hit baseballs to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

07/12/2021 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Jordan is a coachable LHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Cape Cod Select Training & Competition. On the mound, Jordan operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 61-63mph with sharp 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 65-66mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Long tossing can help Jordan build up his arm strength. In the field, Jordan shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/strong through his target. Jordan can throw out more baserunners by getting rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance with comfortable hands. He is fluid to load and works through a smooth swing, producing strong line drives. Striding square toward the pitcher can help Jordan create more consistent contact. With three more years to develop, Jordan has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/15/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Jordan showed solid overall improvements in his game during his last workout in Madison. He increased arm velocity to 65 MPH, exit velocity to 64 MPH, hitting spiked as well as defensive grades. In the OF, Jordan has efficient footwork, good pre-pitch actions, and he fields low. He takes good routes, hands are firm, and he throws with carry and accuracy from a long arm action to his target. On the mound, Jordan has a good idea, a clean arm circle, and he gets good extension on his pitches. His FB has A/S run, he has a controlled landing toward home, and competes in the zone. Offensively, Jordan has tall/open stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes hard contact gap to gap, and he uses his lower body well. Solid skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Defense
1. Follow throws
2. Hands
3. Release
Pitching
1. Finish
2. Lower body
Offense
1. Loosen grip
2. Avoid drifting

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Jordan is an athletic and talented 2024 2-way prospect that was eager to learn. In the OF, Jordan starts in an athletic position, he reads the ball off the bat, and works behind the ball. He's on time with his prep step and anticipates the ball off the bat. He needs to continue to build arm strength and improve his first step to the ball. At the plate, Jordan starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position and gets his front foot down on time. He has a good approach and creates backside drive with his lower half. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, quiet his head, and get his front foot down on time. On the bump, Jordan has good mound presence and repeats his delivery north to south. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and works over the front side. He commands his fastball down in the zone and creates run on his changeup. Jordan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/16/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Jordan is a young, 2-way player who plays OF and LHP. Defensively, Jordan has playable hands and feet and he reads the ball well off the bat. He moves well to the ball, makes plays, and has a clean exchange with accuracy and consistency to his target. On the mound, Jordan has a clean arm circle, a still head, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He has a controlled landing toward home plate and competes in the zone. Offensively, Jordan has a square/athletic set-up, a short stride, and good balance. This LHH swings in good rhythm, stays inside the ball, and has a direct/level plane through contact. Overall skills can improve if Jordan can work on the following.

Outfield
1. Play more through
2. Hands
3. Quicken feet
Pitching
1. Separation
2. Finish
3. Off-speed
Offense
1. Bat speed
2. Contact points

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
