06/01/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Jordan is an athletic and talented 2020 catching prospect with a good frame. Behind the dish, Jordan starts in an athletic primary/secondary stance, he works behind the ball, and has smooth actions to the ball when receiving. He leads with his glove, moves lateral to the ball well, and keeps everything in front of him when blocking. When throwing, he has a clean exchange, a quick release, and has carry on the ball. At the plate, Jordan starts in an athletic stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and keeps a quiet head. He creates backside drive, hits off a firm front side, and has a middle approach. He looks for the ball over the middle part of the plate and has easy hands in his swings. Jordan has tremendous upside and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jordan is a talented catching prospect who has an above average skill set. As a right-handed hitter, Jordan has a square setup with high hands. He has an activated load with a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Jordan has an on-plane swing path and rotates his core. He shows fast bat speed producing hard contact. Jordan shows the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with power. Behind the plate, Jordan plays the position athletically and shows a cannon for an arm. He presents a low target and receives the ball well. He has a quick, clean exchange and gains momentum through his release. Jordan has a quick, loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws have good carry and are accurate to 2B. Jordan does a nice job blocking the baseball and is quick to recover. Overall, Jordan can make an impact on both sides of the ball and is a prospect to watch.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
