07/24/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Jordan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. Behind the dish, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows a tall, closed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 77-78 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He throws a split finger but slows arm speed tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is well above average as he locates well to both sides of the plate. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/12/2019 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Jordan is an athletic and thin 2020 2-way prospect. On the bump, Jordan has good tempo in his delivery and shows confidence in his changeup. His fastball tails out of the zone, his curveball has a medium 11-5 break, and his changeup gets good run. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and works over his front side. At 3B, Jordan is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and plays through the ball. He has a clean exchange, good footwork on double plays, and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Jordan starts in a tall stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and looks for the ball over the middle-outside part of the plate. He has good separation in his load and drives the ball gap to gap. Jordan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/07/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Spokane, WA Jordan is a tall, long built 3B/RHP prospect who has a talented skill set. In the field, Jordan shows effective pre-pitch actions with quick footwork and agile movements. He fields the ball in an athletic position with a firm glove. Jordan funnels the ball well and has a quick exchange. Jordan throws from a low 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick release and is developing arm strength. Offensively, Jordan has a tall setup with his weight in the back of his stance. He has a long stride and can work to engage his lower half. Jordan has an on-plane swing path producing consistent contact. He is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with power. On the mound, Jordan has a balanced delivery and keeps his eyes on his target. He has an on-time separation and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. Jordan has a quick arm action and stays square to home plate with a controlled landing. He effectively uses his front side and finishes with an upright chest. Jordan locates his fastball with tail movement. He also commands his medium breaking curveball and developing changeup. Overall, Jordan is a well-rounded prospect who has a bright future on the diamond.

06/16/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jordan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, feet are active as he moves well laterally, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he presents glove well out front. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a balanced setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a solid feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 4 for 12 with a 2B. On the mound, fastball sowed a range of 73-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.

05/13/2018 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Jordan is a lean, athletic 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork as he plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with zip across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are strong and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 70-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He shows a feel for the changeup as he maintains arm speed with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Jordan has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
