ADVANCED SWING METRICS BY SWINGTRACKER

Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

07/09/2018 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jordan continues to show steady play in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He shows good game awareness and does a nice job of backing up bases. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, power potential has improved through a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 60-64 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/15/2018 - College PREP - Tucson, AZ Jordan is a lean, athletic lefty pitcher with nice skills. On the mound, Jordan stands over the rubber well, he keeps his eyes on target, and lands with good direction toward home. He gets good pivot off his back foot and competes in the zone with his pitches. If Jordan can loosen his arm action, finish in a more complete position, and continue to add arm strength, mound effectiveness will improve. At the plate, Jordan has a tall set-up, he loads properly, and flashes an opposite field approach. Better timing, a shorter swing, and more lower body will help hitting get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
