07/11/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One South Jordan showed major improvements in his baseball abilities and now shows as a solid draft type player in 2015. In the OF is where he has improved the most, now displaying tremendous abilities. Foot speed is superior as he once again ran a 6.69 60. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process. Arm strength has really improved as he topped out at 87 mph with life, accuracy, and on line carry through a loose arm action. At the plate is continues to show as a switch hitter, displaying superior hitting abilities with outstanding power potential from both sides. Hands are quick, generating outstanding bat speed through a short / direct path. He works to stay inside the baseball, utilizing all fields and makes consistent hard contact, showing plus barrel accuracy.

01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jordan displayed a good stick from both sides of the plate and solid defensive skills at the Pre-Season. He currently has more pop from the right side with a middle approach, good balance, and fast bat speed. His hands are quick from both sides, he delivers the barrel on-time to the ball, and he shows good hand-eye coordination. In the OF, Jordan reads the ball off the bat well, his feet are quick, and he plays through properly with accuracy to his target. In the INF, Jordan plays low to high, his hands are soft, and he fields out front of his body.

09/21/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Futures Series East - Jupiter, FL Scott has noticeable present strength on a well proportioned 6-foot 193 pound frame. He ran the 60 yard dash in 6.87 on a slightly soft and slow track, putting him among the better runners at this event. Defensively, his feet moved with quickness and he got into a solid fielding position. Glove action was solid to play the ball, and he worked through towards the target well. He showed enough arm strength to turn the double play from the 2B side of the bag. At the plate, he showed bat speed and a fluid right handed stroke. He stayed on the ball through contact, and rotated his core well - allowing him to drive the ball. His left handed stroke wasn't up to what we've seen previously, he was pulling off and didn't make much solid contact from that side of the plate. Considering he came off the football field the evening before this event, and traveled from GA to FL it is certain he was neither physically fresh or necessarily in baseball shape. However, he showed athletic ability and offensive potential along with a solid glove in the infield.

07/12/2013 - Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One South Jordan improved his hitting abilities on both sides of the plate since the last time that we saw him. Currently, he still projects slightly better from the right side but has abilities from the left side and he can be a true switch hitter at the next level. He shows an athletic setup with quick hands that generate bat speed through the zone. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. His power from both sides is great and from the right side in particular, it is phenomenal. He is a solid defender as well, utilizing his outstanding foot speed to display range in the MIF. He is one to watch moving forward and is going to generate a lot of interest from the college coaches.

12/27/2012 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament Jordan is an interesting young prospect with serious upside. He is a versatile player in the 2015 class who is just beginning to scratch the surface of how good he can be. At Pirate City, he was one of the best raw talents we saw. He swings the bat with authority, generating bat speed and producing some loud contact. His approach is disciplined as he shows good strike zone judgement, but his swing is still a bit raw. As he refines his mechanics and simplifies his swing he will be a force in the line-up. In the outfield, he shows his athleticism when tracking balls down. His throws are accurate and have some carry. With more experience will come better reads off the bat and a better feel for game situations. Jordan is also capable at 2B and offers a coach several options of where to play him. Unfortunately he was unable to run a 60 yard dash with us to do a hamstring injury, but he has posted sub 7 second times at other camps. Overall, Jordan has a chance to be a middle-of-the-order bat. He should garner serious college interest in the future.

06/03/2012 - College PREP - Atlanta, GA Jordan is an athletic 2B/OF that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best in the OF for the next level, though he showed well in the infield too. As an outfielder, his feet are quick / athletic as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He attacks ground balls playing through well, but he can work on getting behind fly balls more. At 2B, he moves well laterally flashing range. Infield grades can improve by presenting his hands more out front and working to get rid of the baseball quicker. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Scott is a very effective switch hitter that shows above average abilities from both sides. Power numbers are slightly better from the right side. He shows a solid setup and quick hands that flash bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power numbers continuing to improve as he learns to use his lower half more through the swing. With 3 years to further develop, Jordan has a lot of potential with the makings to be a solid player as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
