07/09/2013 - College PREP - Minneapolis, MN Jordan is a lanky 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.20 60 time. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and displays clean hands. He needs to play through balls more and present hands more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Steffer shows a balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He slows his arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with fading action but tips pitch off to hitters. Jordan has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
