Official Scouting Report

  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

09/15/2013 - College PREP - Adrian, MI Jordan showed well at SS and on the bump in his most recent outing with Baseball Factory. On the mound, he threw three pitches for strikes with good command and arm speed. He had easy actions and hit 83 MPH with his fastball and showed an 11/5 BB - out pitch - with sharp action. At short, he has smooth actions, sure hands and active feet that allow him to make plays with ease. He has the arm strength to be an every day shortstop and uses the proper footwork to field. Offensively, he has fast bat speed, present rhythm and good balance throughout his swing. He flashes present pop and has future potential for advanced power. In all - Jordan is a strong two-way player that can play either spot at the next level.

04/29/2012 - College PREP - Adrian (Detroit), MI Jordan is a thin two-way player that will graduate in 2015. Offensively, he shows a square setup with a solid load and short stride. He gets good extension after contact and showed the ability to center the ball on the barrel to all fields. He needs more pre-pitch rhythm which will allow him to get better use out of his lower half. Overall, strength will help with bat speed and power to drive the ball to the gaps. Defensively at shortstop, he is aggressive to the ball, he tracks the ball to the glove, and makes the routine play. He shows decent range to both sides and makes consistent throws to his target. He needs to play through the ball better and work on the double play feeds and turns. On the mound, he shows a repeatable delivery, good command of all pitches, and a clean arm circle. He needs to stay tall on the backside and continue to develop arm strength and feel for his off speed pitches. Jordan is still young and will continue to improve with hard work.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
