06/01/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Jordan continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. On the bump, he attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 92 mph. Fastball showed a range of 90-92 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for the pitch with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as excellent pitches that will get outs. Control is tremendous as he throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step (6.89 60 time) and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (98 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows big play potential. Jordan has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will make him a top 2020 draft pick.

10/06/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures West Jordan is an athletic two-way prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Jordan gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistent with good carry across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load well and flashes gap to gap pop. On the mound, Jordan keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Jordan shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 88mph. Breaking ball sits at 72mph with sharp movement. Overall, Jordan is a talented prospect who should find success in this, his junior season.

01/29/2017 - National Tryout - San Diego, CA Jordan is a young SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Jordan shows quick, fluid footwork and is very agile moving to the ball. He gets into a square, athletic position and fields with soft hands. He shows a quick, clean exchange with loose arm action on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and on-line to his target. Jordan can improve defensively by setting his feet to throw. At the plate, this RHH shows good center balance and easy rhythm. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through the zone with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and extension through the zone which leads to consistent contact and line drives. Jordan can improve as a hitter by moving his hands less in his stance. On the mound, Jordan shows a quick arm action and extends through on his release, finishing square to the plate. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82mph with arm side tail. Slider sits from 63-65mph with 10-4 break. Jordan can improve as a pitcher by gathering over the rubber in his motion and by striding out farther towards the plate. Overall, Jordan is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
