Official Scouting Report

07/10/2017 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Jordan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive in attacking balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 60 mph. Fastball showed a range of 59-60 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with early break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/28/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Keizer (Salem), OR Jordan is a SS/RHP with an athletic build. Defensively at SS, he shows an active prep step and attacks the GB with quick feet. He comes up with a clean exchange and gives accurate feeds on DP's. On the hill, this righty gathers over the rubber and delivers from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a 3-pitch arsenal with a FB that tails in the zone and a CH that deceives hitter with late running life. At the plate, Jordan gets back into a good load. He takes aggressive hacks through the zone as he looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Create better angles
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Get to a balance point
2. Stay directional
3. Throw more strikes
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Improve bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
