At the plate, Jorge has a square set-up, comfortable hands, and he takes a square stride toward the pitcher. He swings in good rhythm, makes consistent contact, and he hits line drives consistently. Jorge showed hard work, good athleticism, and good hustle at Spring Training.
12/14/2019 - Florida Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 14-18)
Jorge Brett is a coachable 2B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, Jorge Brett gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes square to his target. Jorge Brett shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph. Breaking ball sits at 65mph with late 9-3 break. Changeup sits at 60mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Separating his hands later in his motion can help Jorge Brett improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Jorge Brett can improve as a hitter by keeping his hands inside the ball. Overall, Jorge Brett is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.
