10/23/2013 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic
Jorge performed well in his latest Factory event, showing an ability to make adjustments and stay mentally tough. Offensively, he showed a good approach with some sound mechanics. During the event, he focused on staying square with his lower half, being sure not to step in the bucket. He was able to make adjustments and was successful getting hits and driving in runs. Defensively, he patrolled all three outfield spots with good speed and decent routes. In all - Jorge proved to be a very coachable young player that has good aptitude and athleticism.
07/24/2013 - California Select Training & Competition (Ages 14-18)
Jorge continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most now showing well above average hitting abilities and solid average power through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 5 for 9 with a 3B. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.11. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls in the OF and has improved his defensive grade. For grade to continue to improve, he needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Throws are accuracy but needs to build more arm strength / carry through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a hard worker.
03/24/2013 - College PREP - Bay Area, CA
Jorge is a young, lanky OF that will graduate in 2017. Foot speed is slightly above average as indicated by his 7.42 60 time. Feet are quick / athletic as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he works to get behind balls and plays through well. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program, improve foot work and raise arm slot to improve arm grade. At the plate, Chenart continues to shine through an open / athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. With 4 years to further develop, Jorge has the makings to be a special type player that will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
