11/30/2014 - College PREP - Fort Myers, FL Jorge continues to shine on the diamond. This strong righty can swing it and do so with authority. He shows fluid rhythm working back into a loaded position and waiting for his pitch. Swing path is quick as he extends through contact and utilizes the entire field. At 1B, he works well around the bag and is sure handed with the ability to pick it. Jorge will be a middle of the line-up type of guy with his ability to drive in runs.

11/17/2013 - College PREP - Davie, FL Jorge is a switch hitting two-way player (3B/RHP), that will graduate in 2016. Over at the hot corner, he has efficient footwork, works to get himself in a good fielding position and fields with playable hands. Offensively, he worked from a crouched setup and showed a level path. From the left side, he needs to focus on staying more compact to the ball to increase hit ability. On the mound, he showed good presence, topping out at 79 MPH and dropping a BB with late bite (64-67 MPH). In all - Hernando shows present tools and projectability as an athletic (7.1 sixty) ball player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
