01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Jose is an athletic, RHH MIF who can pick it. Defensively, he has quick/active prep footwork and moves fluidly right to left in his approach to the GB. Hands and feet works well together as he funnels smoothly and has a quick transfer/release. Throws are accurate with zip. Offensively, this righty displays a balanced setup with fluid rhythm to load. Swing is quick on a short/direct path as he engages his lower 1/2 well and creates good extension through contact. He has a good eye for the zone - drawing 3 walks at the event. Puig is a solid MIF who (2023 grad) has upside and still time to progress.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
