12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Joseph is a muscular 2019 2B prospect whose hustle really stands out on the field. He uses his strength at the plate to show off impressive raw power with the ability to drive the ball deep into the gaps. At second, his feet are active with good pre pitch work to get in the best position to field the ball out in front of his body. His hands are soft and he funnels the ball in to make plays cleanly, exchanging cleanly to throw with accuracy to his target. This RHH shows a balanced setup with a quiet head and tracks the ball well, picking pitches up early out of the hand. His swing path is level and he shows barrel feel to make consistent contact and spray the ball to all fields. Keeping his hands active to load and stay in rhythm during his swing will lead to more hard contact and base hits moving forward. Joseph is a solid ballplayer who has the tools to become a nice prospect for the next level.

08/27/2016 - College PREP - West Harrison (NYC), NY Joseph is a lean OF/2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.13. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, he utilizes his quick feet well in tracking down balls through an aggressive approach. He covers a lot of ground but will benefit by working to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. In the IF, feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well. Hands are soft / clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. With 3 years to further develop, Joseph has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
