12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Joseph is an athletic and talented 2-way prospect that is a high character player. In the OF, Joseph is on time with his prep step, he reads the ball off the bat well, and works behind the ball. He has a quick first step to the ball and closes the gaps. At the plate, Joseph has a middle approach and competes every at bat. He starts in a tall stance, he load his hands back, and has quick hands. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and rotate his backside. On the bump, Joseph gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a clean arm action. He has a tight breaking ball and throws his fastball for strikes. He needs to continue to ride his back leg down hill and work north to south in his delivery. Joseph is a team player and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
