11/07/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Joseph continues to work hard on his game. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and works downhill, in-line toward his target. FB shows some arm-side run, topping out at 75 mph. He throws strikes and gives his defense a chance. Working on his release point will help to improve command of off-speed pitches. As a hitter, this righty gets his hands back and maintains good balance. He squares the ball up and consistently puts the barrel on the ball. More lower 1/2 drive will help to increase power at the plate. Defensively in the INF, he works to get into a square fielding position. He has a clean exchange and can turn the DP. Anderson is a coachable player and good teammate.

06/25/2013 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Joseph is an athletic RHP with a strong lower half that will graduate in 2015. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his half well in working in line and on time, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate through a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 68-72 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sweeping action but needs to work to stay on top and find consistent release point. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stocking the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arms strength and learns to show more strikes with all his pitches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
