01/26/2020 - College PREP - Myrtle Beach, SC Joseph is a strong, solid, 3rd baseman who will graduate in 2020. He has good athleticism, active feet, and a good 1st step to the baseball. He presents his glove well, fields athletically, and throws with momentum and accuracy from a long arm action across the diamond. Playing more through and shortening is arm action a bit could help abilities at 3B get better. At the plate, Joseph has a tall/square set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He makes square/level contact, he has strength in his swing, and he uses his lower 1/2. An improved stride foot and letting the ball travel deeper will help spike already solid hitting numbers.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
